The IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub is a low profile aluminum platform that decouples a subwoofer weighing up to 80 lbs (36.3 kg) from the floor. It is shaped so it sits between the existing feet on the cabinet rather than fighting them, adds very little height, and works with both front firing and side firing designs. What Isolating a Subwoofer Changes A subwoofer driving energy straight into the floor rattles the structure and carries into neighbouring rooms. The Aperta Sub prevents that transfer, and it also stops those vibrations reflecting off the floor and being conducted back up into the cabinet, which is what smears bass into a muddy, indistinct low end. Managing both paths tightens the bass and makes low frequency detail audible as pitch rather than rumble. The isolators are directional and are designed to be positioned with the logo facing forward.
