I made this piecework jacket from five different Japanese happi coats– all in various shades of faded black and grey. Pieces from the vintage festival garments are skewed in all di fferent directions– few of which are in their original, upright position. Part of a large mon emblem appears on the center of the back, with visible mending from a previous owner. The Belgian linen lining is deadstock material which I overdyed. There is an interior breast pocket on the left side as well as a waist pocket on the right side. The jacket also has side vents and ties in front. The length is 30," the width is 27," and the sleeves are 23" long. The dress from has a 40" chest and a 32" waist. The size is equivalent to a medium-large. Show more
