The most labor-intensive pants I've made to date, Item E15 features fabric swatches from dozens of different vintage Japanese kimonos. These pants are a testament to my Japanophili a and unlike all others that I've produced. The wild mix of textiles are sewn onto a "substrate" which is itself constructed from vintage kimono linings. The exposed lining materials become a sort of "canvas" over which I pieced together fragments of the many, many kimonos I've deconstructed. The result is a layered, cacophonous, wearable fabric collage. Show more
