This scarf is made from 55 pieces of vintage kimono fabrics, in silk, cotton, and silk and cotton blends. Though all the pieces are rectangular, I cut all of them on the bias. The edges are stitched but not hemmed, and the outline of the scarf becomes jagged on two sides, with patches jutting out of square. Though seemingly straightforward, the construction of this piece was a challenge because the scarf never follows the grain of the fabric. The length is 50" long and the width is around 11." Any discoloration or damage is due to the vintage nature of the fabric. Show more
