Many planners and calendars feature gorgeous art inside, and it’s a shame to toss them when the year has come to an end. This is why I like to take the time to tear out any artwork that catches my eye, knowing I’ll probably find a way to use it in later projects. I recently noticed that my basket of paper odds and ends was overflowing and knew I needed to do something about it. I grabbed my basket and a paper punch, and turned on one of my favorite shows to watch while I looked through the planner scraps to determine which would make the best gift tags. It wasn’t long before I had quite the collection of gift tags ready to use, which was perfect timing because I found myself needing to wrap a gift the very next day. Thankfully my tendency to hold on to just about every scrap of paper I come across came in handy. I wrapped the gift with white paper and added a strip cut from a dress pattern. I then cut a fabric scrap and piece of twine the same length, and tied them around the box, securing the tag in place. To add a little something extra to the tag, I tore a scrap of white paper, adhered it to the tag, and then topped it with a tiny dried flower. This stunning presentation couldn’t have been any easier!
