Original 1960s mid century watercolour ‘plein aire’ painting, painted on-location to capture the natural light and atmosphere, by known Australian artist Dermott Hellier. The scene features a bush hut amidst towering gum trees. Framed with light coated solid vintage wood with custom mount behind glass. 52cm x 34cm frame 33cm x 19cm artwork Dermont Hellier (1916-2006) is a well respected traditional Australian artist. At the age of 9 years he studied under the Scottish artist Sarah Kyle, and later studied at the NGV school with Thomas Wheeler and Septimus Power. During WW2 he was an official war artist, serving in Australia and New Guinea. Show more
