Whether for connecting company locations, linking partner companies, or providing remote access services, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) offer a cost-effective and, above all, secure way to transmit even business-critical data over public networks, such as the internet. Solutions based on the IP Security (IPSec) standard are well-established and recognized worldwide in the internet environment. The revolutionary aspect of the LANCOM VPN solution is LANCOM Dynamic VPN technology, which eliminates the need for fixed IP addresses: Before establishing a connection, the current IP addresses of the IPSec gateways can be exchanged. This removes the limitation of fixed and therefore expensive IP addresses for internet-based VPN connections. Instead, significantly more cost-effective connections with dynamic IP addresses (flat rate or time-based) can be used with freely selectable internet service providers.
