Jacaranda is Perth's iconic spring tree - the blue-purple flower clouds that appear in October and November on bare branches before the leaves emerge are one of the most recognisab le seasonal events in the city. At full flower a mature Jacaranda is a spectacular sight: a large, spreading canopy covered almost entirely in tubular, lavender-blue flowers with almost no green visible. It grows to around 8-15m with a broad, spreading, semi-weeping canopy that provides generous summer shade after the flowering season. Full sun. Well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established.
