This listing is for a seedling of the Gold Nugget cultivar originating from Australia. Dwarf/compact growth habit compared to other types. Firm golden flesh, neither crunchy nor sloppy. Fruits average around 3-4kg, which is ideal in the NZ climate. Strong bubblegum, fruity flavour. Plants are approximately 30+cm above the soil and over a year old. I am happy to give any advice needed and will supply growing recommendations. These are currently being grown outside in Auckland and are fine outside over the winter, provided there is no frost or protection is provided. Eventually they will be suitable for planting in the ground for the warmer parts of the country and container growing elsewhere. Good drainage is required if you intend on planting these in the ground in future. Jackfruit may not grow true to type from seed but are generally very similar.
