Jacob's ladder, Polemonium caeruleum, is a lovely clump-forming perennial, requiring little maintenance. In early summer it produces bell-shaped flowers. Polemonium caeruleum 'Whit e Pearl' forms a low mound of cream-edged green leaves. In mid-to late spring, clusters of brilliant white flowers hang on upright stems. It's ideal for using as ground cover at the front of shady borders and edging paths. For best results, grow Polemonium reptans 'White Pearl' in moist but well-drained soil, in partial shade. Cut back after flowering to encourage a second flush of blooms. In autumn cut back again to ground level. This dramatic cultivar has bright green leaves that are richly edged with cream. It bears lavender-blue blossoms in spring. Care Zones 4 - 8. Full - partial shade. Can tolerate some morning/evening sun or dappled afternoon shade, but no hot direct afternoon sun in our area. Moist, well drained soil. Can tolerate wetter conditions. Growth Habit 12” - 18” tall and 2’ wide. Toxicity Nontoxic. Do not ingest. Show more
