Airfix is an additive designed for use with many of the Jacquard brand family of paints. When heat setting your project with an iron isn't practical (or you just don't want to) you can use Airfix INSTEAD of ironing, to fix the paint and make it washable. AirFix is similar to Versatex "No Heat" Fixative; the difference being that AirFix is much more stable and concentrated, making it useful for larger projects. Add approximately 1/2 tsp per 2.25oz bottle (or 3% by weight) to any water-based fabric paint. For optimal results, the manufacturer has recommended adding fixative to only as much paint as you can use within 6 hours. Some customers report you can use Airfix treated paint for 24 hours or more, as long as the paint is not allowed to dry out so we recommend you experiment. When using Airfix treated paint, allow painted fabric to fully dry, then wait 72 hours before washing. Suitable for use with Jacquard Textile Colors, Neopaque, Dye-Na-Flow or Airbrush Colors, Versatex, and other acrylic fabric paints. Do not freeze - store between 40 and 100 degrees F.Use only in well ventilated area and avoid skin contact. Cure time is approximately 72 hrs after the paint is fully dry.
