The 6600-166 is the genuine short-tip water temperature sensor with curled-finger connectors used on many Jacuzzi® and Sundance® LED-control spas. It replaces the older 6600-070 sensor. The sensor reports water temperature to the control board, so when it fails you may see temperature readings that don't match the water, a heater that won't run or won't shut off, or sensor-related error codes. Dealer fitment lists include Sundance 680™ and 780™ Series from 2006, 2005 780/850E systems, Portofino and Sweetwater™ models, 2003–2005 Del Sol, and 1998+ Solo, 701 and 724 systems, plus Jacuzzi® 2002+ J-300™ (LED), 2005+ J-200™, 2002–2003 J-310/J-320/J-330/J-340, 2004+ J-315/J-325/J-335/J-345, 2007+ J-355/J-365/J-375, 2005+ J-210/J-220/J-230, 2007+ J-270/J-280 and 2011+ J-LX/J-LXL. Spas this broad span several connector generations, so check that your old sensor has curled-finger connectors before ordering; box-end (6600-167) and 3-pin (6600-751/6600-551) sensors are different parts. The O-ring that seals the sensor (6540-228) is sold separately, and replacing it along with the sensor is recommended. Turn off power at the breaker before working on the equipment, and use a qualified technician if you're not comfortable with spa electronics.
