About African Jade — Honest Note The beads in this bracelet are African Jade (also known as Verdite) — a beautiful green stone from southern Africa, sometimes also called "Transvaal jade". It is not the same as true jade (jadeite or nephrite), which is mined in Asia and is significantly more expensive. African Jade is its own stone with its own quiet character — a gentle, meaningful green that has been carried for centuries as a charm of prosperity, harmony and friendship. We use the trade name "Jade" for clarity, but we want you to know exactly what you're getting.
