This music on this album has become known as the George Lewis "Jam Session." This benchmark recording was originally captured on two tape recorders by producer Dr. Edmond Souchon o n May 22nd, 1950 in New Orleans and features George Lewis, Elmer Talbert, Jim Robinson, Alton Purnell, Lawrence Marrero, Slow Drag Pavageau and Joe Watkins. This special release contains the complete session with never before heard outtakes.
