The Janome Memory Craft 1000 combines 300 sewing stitches, 241 embroidery designs, a 140 × 140mm embroidery field, free-arm capability and intuitive colour touchscreen editing in a versatile platform designed for everyday creativity. 300 built-in sewing stitches 241 embroidery designs 140 × 140mm maximum embroidery area 3.5-inch colour touchscreen View Instruction Manual Download NZ/AU Brochure Janome Memory Craft 1000 with its compact built-in embroidery arm and supplied SQ14e hoop. Two creative machines in one Move from everyday sewing to personalised embroidery The Memory Craft 1000 is designed for makers who want the versatility of a full computerised sewing machine together with the creative possibilities of machine embroidery. Use it for garment construction, quilting, alterations, appliqué, home décor and decorative stitching, then swing out the built-in embroidery arm to add names, monograms, motifs, patches and in-the-hoop projects. Unlike combination machines with a separate side-mounted embroidery unit, the MC1000 stores its embroidery mechanism behind the machine. This keeps the footprint compact and means the embroidery system remains with the machine during transport and storage. Sewing 300 stitches and 12 buttonholes Complete everyday construction, garment, quilting, appliqué and decorative sewing using on-screen recommendations and adjustable settings. Embroidery 241 designs and USB import Personalise garments, gifts, bags and home décor using built-in designs or compatible embroidery files transferred by USB. Quilting 180mm workspace and drop feed Piece quilts with the supplied 1/4-inch foot and straight-stitch plate, then add optional quilting equipment as your skills grow. New Zealand and Australian package Ready for sewing and embroidery The official regional package includes nine presser feet, the full-size SQ14e embroidery hoop, two magnetic needle plates, foot controller and the essential accessories required to begin. Nine sewing and embroidery feet SQ14e 140 × 140mm hoop Standard zigzag needle plate Straight-stitch needle plate Four genuine Janome bobbins Special embroidery bobbin holder Embroidery scissors Touchscreen stylus Stitch-reference chart Electronic foot controller Hard-copy instruction book Janome-branded soft cover Why the Memory Craft 1000 stands out Thoughtful technology without unnecessary complexity 01 Built-in embroidery arm Release and swing the rear embroidery arm into position without attaching a separate bulky embroidery unit. 02 300 sewing stitches Explore utility, stretch, quilting, appliqué, satin, heirloom, cross-stitch, decorative and lettering options. 03 241 embroidery designs Begin creating immediately with floral, children’s, appliqué, lace, name-tag, cross-stitch and in-the-hoop designs. 04 Magnetic needle plates Change between the standard zigzag and straight-stitch plates without removing retaining screws. 05 180mm sewing workspace A useful seven-inch space to the right of the needle provides room for garments, bags, patchwork and home décor. 06 Free-arm embroidery Optional free-arm hoops allow suitable sleeves, trouser legs and small finished garments to slide around the machine arm. 07 Automatic thread cutting Cut the upper and bobbin threads during ordinary sewing and automatically trim suitable jump threads while embroidering. 08 Optical bobbin monitoring The machine monitors the bobbin-thread supply and warns you before it runs out during sewing or embroidery. Compact by design A rear embroidery arm that is always ready Press the release lever and swing the embroidery arm out from behind the machine. Attach the hoop, select embroidery mode and begin creating. When embroidery is complete, the arm folds neatly back into the machine and becomes part of the flat sewing surface. This design avoids storing a separate embroidery module and helps the MC1000 fit into smaller sewing rooms, classrooms and creative workspaces. A capable computerised sewing machine 300 stitches for construction and creativity The MC1000 is more than an embroidery platform. It is a fully featured computerised sewing machine with stitches for everyday construction, garment sewing, quilting, stretch fabrics, appliqué, heirloom work and decorative embellishment. Select a stitch from the colour screen and the machine displays recommended settings and the appropriate presser foot. Stitch width and length can then be adjusted to suit the project. 300 built-in sewing stitches 12 one-step buttonholes Three sewing fonts Maximum 7mm stitch width Maximum 5mm stitch length 15 standard needle positions Five-times satin-stitch elongation Horizontal and vertical mirror imaging Up to 100 stitches per combination The built-in library includes utility, quilting, appliqué, decorative and lettering stitches. Reliable everyday fabric feeding Seven-piece Superior Feed System Plus Janome’s seven-piece lower-feed system provides broad contact with the fabric to help maintain controlled movement from the beginning of the seam to the end. Lightweight fabrics Adjust the six-level foot-pressure control to reduce puckering and unwanted fabric movement. Stretch fabrics Combine the correct stretch stitch, suitable needle and adjusted foot pressure for cleaner results. Quilt piecing Use the included 1/4-inch foot and straight-stitch plate for accurate patchwork seams. Layered projects Add an optional Janome even-feed foot when additional upper feeding is required. Create personalised bags, accessories, garments and decorative projects. Room to sew without dominating the room A practical 180 × 110mm workspace The space to the right of the needle measures approximately 180mm wide by 110mm high, providing room for garments, small quilts, bags and home décor. Remove the accessory-storage section to reveal a 100mm free arm for sleeves, cuffs, trouser legs and tubular construction. The optional extra-wide table fits around the free arm when more support is required for quilting or larger projects. 180mm workspace width 110mm workspace height 100mm free-arm length Extra-high presser-foot lift Two LED lights Rigid die-cast aluminium frame Fast machine conversion Magnetic needle plates with no screws to remove Place the supplied screwdriver in the front notch and lift gently. The magnetic plate releases without undoing retaining screws. The standard zigzag plate supports utility, stretch and decorative stitches. The included straight-stitch plate provides close fabric support for precise straight sewing and quilt piecing. A built-in sensor recognises the fitted plate and helps prevent incompatible wide stitches from being selected. The MC1000 includes motifs, appliqué designs, lace, name tags and in-the-hoop projects. Start embroidering immediately 241 designs across 15 creative categories The built-in embroidery collection provides a broad starting point for personalisation, gifts, clothing, accessories and decorative projects. Floral and garden designs Food and drink motifs Everyday and holiday designs Baby and children’s designs Name-tag designs In-the-hoop projects Cross-stitch embroidery Freestanding lace designs Fabric lace designs Appliqué embroidery Fringe designs Alphabet motifs Personalisation made simple Names, lettering and monograms directly from the machine Add names, dates, messages and initials without purchasing separate digitising software. Eleven English fonts Choose from Gothic, Script, Cheltenham, Bauhaus, Galant, Typist, Brush and other styles. Additional alphabets The regional model also includes Russian and Japanese embroidery character selections. Two-letter monograms Create balanced two-initial monograms for garments, towels and personalised gifts. Three-letter monograms Build classic three-letter layouts directly from the embroidery screen. Curved lettering Arrange suitable lettering into an upper or lower arc around a design. Border designs Combine lettering, motifs and borders into personalised layouts. Create directly on the machine 3.5-inch high-definition colour touchscreen Move between ordinary sewing and embroidery mode using the clear icon-based touchscreen. During ordinary sewing, the screen displays the selected stitch, recommended presser foot and adjustable settings. In embroidery mode, it shows the design, hoop, colours, stitch count, position and editing tools. Resize embroidery designs Rotate and reposition motifs Flip horizontally or vertically Duplicate and combine designs Group selected elements Create symmetrical corner layouts Change displayed thread colours Change sewing order Reduce colour changes Single-colour embroidery mode Sewing stitches and embroidery layouts can be selected and edited on the colour screen. Easier project preparation Lever-assisted hoop tightening The supplied SQ14e hoop uses a three-stage tightening system to simplify fabric and stabiliser placement. Leave the lever open while positioning the project, move it halfway for final adjustments and close it completely to secure the fabric. The conventional tightening screw remains available for fine adjustment when working with fabrics and stabilisers of different thicknesses. Hoop options One standard hoop and three optional sizes Use a hoop that closely matches the design size to help maintain fabric tension and reduce stabiliser waste. SQ14e 140 × 140mmIncluded with machine SQ10e 100 × 100mmOptional square hoop FA10e 100 × 40mmOptional free-arm hoop FA5e 50 × 50mmOptional free-arm hoop SQ10e provides a compact square embroidery field for smaller motifs and monograms. FA10e is designed for narrow free-arm embroidery on suitable finished items. FA5e creates a compact 50mm square embroidery field for small names and motifs. Optional free-arm hoops allow suitable finished items to slide around the machine arm. Embroider finished tubular items Genuine free-arm embroidery capability Many embroidery machines require sleeves, trouser legs and small garments to be opened at a seam before they can be placed flat inside a hoop. The optional FA10e and FA5e hoops allow suitable tubular items to slide around the MC1000’s free arm, helping you embroider finished projects without dismantling them first. This is particularly useful for children’s clothing, baby garments, socks, small pockets, narrow sleeves and trouser legs. Expand beyond the built-in designs Import compatible embroidery files through USB Transfer compatible embroidery designs from a computer to a USB flash drive, connect it to the machine and open the design from the touchscreen. Imported designs must use a compatible embroidery format, fit inside the selected hoop and remain within the machine’s design limits. One USB port Internal design storage Compatible Janome embroidery formats Design folders and file management Save edited embroidery designs Save sewing-stitch combinations Flexible embroidery stitch travel Pattern tracing before embroidery Fewer interrupted projects Automatic cutting and thread monitoring The MC1000 monitors both the upper and bobbin threads while sewing and embroidering. If the upper thread breaks, the machine stops so it can be rethreaded. During embroidery, you can move backwards through the design and continue from the required position. The optical bobbin sensor warns when the lower thread is running low, while the automatic thread cutter trims the upper and bobbin threads together. Upper-thread sensor Optical bobbin sensor Automatic upper and bobbin cutter Programmable jump-thread trimming Automatic return after a thread break Forward and reverse embroidery stitch travel Quicker setup Superior Needle Threader 2 Follow the clearly marked upper-thread path, position the thread in the guide and lower the threading lever. Release the mechanism and the thread is guided through the eye of the needle, helping reduce setup time between sewing and embroidery colour changes. The top-loading Easy Set Bobbin path also includes a built-in cutting blade for straightforward lower-thread preparation. Scan supported QR codes to access additional Janome information on a compatible phone. Helpful digital guidance Support information is only a scan away The MC1000 can display QR codes that connect a compatible phone or tablet to relevant Janome guidance. Available resources may include stitch information, embroidery references, machine icons and operating guidance. A full hard-copy instruction book is also included with the New Zealand and Australian machine. Quilting capability Piece accurately and expand the machine as your quilting grows The MC1000 includes a 1/4-inch seam foot, straight-stitch plate, automatic drop feed and a useful 180mm workspace for patchwork and general quilting. 1/4-inch seam foot Follow the built-in guide to create consistent patchwork seam allowances. Straight-stitch plate Closely supports the fabric around the needle opening for accurate piecing and fine straight sewing. Automatic drop feed Lower the feed dogs from the touchscreen for free-motion quilting, darning and thread painting. Optional free-motion set Add compatible open-toe, closed-toe and clear-view quilting feet as your techniques develop. Optional even-feed foot Add upper feeding when sewing quilt sandwiches, matched fabrics or multiple layers. Optional extension table Support more of the quilt’s weight and reduce fabric drag around the needle. Everyday convenience Practical controls for sewing and embroidery Start and stop button Sew without the foot controller and operate embroidery directly from the machine. Speed-control slider Limit the maximum sewing speed for detailed work and greater control. Needle up or down Choose whether the needle stops raised or securely lowered in the fabric. Automatic locking stitch Secure suitable seams and stitch patterns at the press of a button. Reverse sewing Reinforce construction seams using the front reverse-control button. Safety lock Disable machine operation while changing needles, feet or threading. Six-level foot pressure Adjust pressure to suit lightweight, stretch, layered and heavier fabrics. Easy Set Bobbin Follow the marked top-loading path and trim the bobbin thread with the built-in cutter. Optional project support Add the extra-wide table for quilting and larger work The optional extension table fits around the MC1000’s free arm and provides approximately 16 × 8.5 inches of additional supported space. Keeping more of the quilt, garment or project level with the needle plate can reduce fabric drag and make long seams easier to guide. The table has folding legs and can be removed when a more compact setup is preferred. The extra-wide table is an optional accessory and is not included with the standard machine.
