The Jampit estate is well known in the coffee world for exceptional coffee. Surprisingly balanced with tons of syrupy, rich body. Notes of baker's chocolate, toffee and cinnamon. Arrival Date: February 9th, 2018 Acidity & Brightness: Low acidity, sweet Balance & Finish: Unusually balanced, spicy, cinnamon finish Body & Texture: Rich Full Body, syrupy texture Flavors: Baker's chocolate, toffee and cinnamon Grade: AWP-1 Processing: Fully Washed Variety: Typica Roasting: Start with a Full City (medium) roast and work your way darker if you're looking for more "bite" and less sweetness. Nothing wrong with taking this one a bit dark! Reminder! This coffee is raw, you must roast it before brewing. Our Review: Java is home to some of the first commercial coffee. The first plantations were started by the Dutch in 1699. As you know, the name of the place is so synonymous with coffee, that a cup is often called a "Cup of Java". Grown in well drained volcanic soil at elevations of about 4,000 feet above sea level, Jampit has all the body you expect from an Indonesian coffee--and then some! T This coffee is also fully washed, which is unusual for coffee from Java and gives it a much more balanced profile than you might expect. It has subdued bittersweet dark chocolate and buttery toffee notes with a hint of cinnamon. The aroma is laced with floral tones, but over and over the words "rich, syrupy and buttery" keep returning as we more deeply appreciate the incredible body and texture. The very low acidity gives it a long, lingering finish and exceptional smoothness on the front end. This is a great coffee to serve with rich desserts.
