The Jazz dress knitting pattern, by Genniewren Designs, includes a dress with a choice of hem finishes, a sweater, a hip-length tunic sweater and a skirt. The cap sleeved dress or sweater is knitted from the neck down with the yoke shaping hidden in the lace sections until the armholes. Thereafter the reverse stockinette stitch sections contain the increases and decreases that give the slim fitted shape to the dress and sweater. The dress fastens down the center back with buttons and buttonholes. The skirt can be worn with the buttons at the front or back, to give different looks. The button bands are knitted in with the dress, so there’s nothing to sew together with this pattern, the only sewing you need to do is darning in the yarn tails and sewing on the buttons or snaps when you're done. The lacy stitch pattern is created with a four row pattern repeat. The dress, sweaters and skirt are each knitted all in one piece, on circular or on a pair of straight needles, whichever you prefer to use. There are no complicated stitches used in this pattern, just knit, purl, yarn over, and knitting or purling two stitches together.This versatile pattern is sure to please your doll.
