Tone ControlsAlso known as a 2-band EQ, the tone control is a low-noise adaptation of a Baxandall circuit, customized for deeper bass and sparkly treble. You can bypass the EQ as you see fit, and there is no performance impact when using the tone controls with the phono stage. Dual GainAtom Phono provides selectable 30 dB or 40 dB gain. At 40 dB, a 15 mV moving magnetic cartridge will be amplified to over 1.5VRMS. That's about 4x stronger than an average phono preamp! Subsonic FilterAn NJM5532 based subsonic filter helps prevent low-frequency turntable noises from being amplified and sent to your headphones or speakers, thus improving audio clarity and preventing unwanted, low-frequency speaker movement.
