Plaster cast of a bas relief plaque, showing a young St Jean Baptiste, modelled in profile. After Donatello. Cast from a highly rare antique plaster cast - the original piece is in the collection of the Musée du Louvre. Dimensions (cm): Height 40.5, Width 31, Depth 6 (at centre). To the rear, hand-initialled and stamped with the Alexander Griffin maker's mark and fitted with a brass 'D ring' for wall hanging from a single screw / nail / hook.
