Heater Matrix is the cabin heat exchanger housed within the heater box of the HVAC system. Engine coolant is circulated through its core while the blower draws cabin air across the fins, transferring heat from the coolant to the air delivered to the vents. It sits downstream of the blower inside the heater assembly. A corroded or internally blocked matrix reduces cabin heat output and can weep coolant into the footwell, which is the usual reason for replacement. Show more
