Jefferson is the leading filbert variety, replacing Barcelona as the most widely grown hazelnut in the U.S. Unlike Barcelona, Jefferson is resistant to Eastern Filbert Blight (EFB) and produces high yields of attractive nuts on an easily managed, upright shrub. Pollination: Requires a pollinizer. Pollinated by Eta (20%), Felix (20%), and Theta (60%), all of which are also EFB-resistant and ensure excellent nut set.
