There’s a reason why some chain designs survive the test of time, they are just that – timeless. They look as beautiful and contemporary today as they did thousands of years ago. This sterling pattern imitates the way women today “braid” their long hair. Sister of the Small Twist Necklace, which is an outward spiral pattern, the Jen’s Braid is the opposite motion, creating an inward braided pattern. Originally called “Jen’s Pind” which in Danish is loosely translated as “Jen’s Stick”, I decided to change the name to Jen’s Braid. Jensen is one of the oldest, most familiar, Danish family names, which means “son of Jen”. Jen’s Braid Necklace comes in various length options. The pattern allows the necklace to be knotted beautifully and the wearer can therefore knot the necklace to change the length. Every knot will make the necklace 2″ shorter, so when considering what length to order, you may want to order slightly longer than normal in order to have more length options. I like the look of the knot, so I wear a 20″ length with a knot off-centre, to make it an 18″ length. You can still add a pendant to hang centre front as yet another alternative option. Shown in the longer lengths with various pendants, it is also available as a 40" lariat length with watch fob ends so you can attach and remove pendants on both ends, or hook the watch fobs together to form one long necklace.
