Composed by Vanina Muracciole for the Paris house Jeroboam and released in 2015, its name is the Esperanto word for the East. Lemon, saffron and resinous styrax open it, rose, ylang-ylang and a touch of apple form a lush floral heart, and patchouli, sandalwood and white musk give a smooth, woody base. It borrows the rose-and-saffron language of Middle Eastern perfumery without any oud, which keeps it lighter and more floral than the style usually is.
