Our Score: 92 Venica is acclaimed for its at once traditional and innovative interpretation of winemaking in the Collio region, in northeastern Italy. This Jesera Pinot Grigio made with organic grapes will surprise you for the amber color and the nutty note on the nose, giving away that this is a more structured wine than the usual Pinot Grigio. Still on the nose, citrus zest, limestone, sage and wet hey complete the aroma spectrum. On the palate it is intense, sapid and persistent, alternating golden apples, floral notes and minerality. It is long with a light note of tannins at the end. Grape: Pinot Grigio Pairing: Fried squash blossoms with ricotta and herbs; fried cod and chips, rich seafood, grilled fish and vegetables. Appellation: Collio DOC, Italy
