The Jihan flower is sacrificed to give the famous threads that are used worldwide in cooking: saffron, one of the most expensive spices of the world."When we were creating our signature Jihan fragrance – working with Drom’s perfumer, Valerie Garnuch-Mentzel – I was taken back to my early days admiring the cooking skills of my mother in the kitchen. I especially remember the cabinet that used to house the little sacred jar of saffron… I always used to feel as if the jar contained a sprinkle of magic – a pretty little pot that housed the rich red threads. I would watch with awe as my mother would infuse the aromatic rose water with saffron, and I would sit amazed as the saffron steeped and the water became a dynamic reddish/yellow hue."
