Amalgam was born when the farm that raises the Targhee wool for Kingston asked if I might be interested in some Welsh mountain Black wool. I was indeed & Amalgam was bor. Made to b e a sibling for Kingston it has the same spinning specs, 3 plies, DK weight & woolen spun. The 4 shades of Amalgam are made by varying the percentages of Targhee & Welsh Mountain Black -which you can maybe imagine is a naturally black wool. Amalgam 1 is 100% Targhee, Amalgam 2 is 80% Targhee 20% Welsh Mountain Black, Amalgam 3 is 60% Targhee 40% Welsh Mountain Black & Amalgam 4 is 24% Targhee & 76% Welsh Mountain Black.
