How It Mounts The valve mounts directly into the Protect-A-Mount bracket first; a 90-degree elbow (included with every Protect-A-Mount) then attaches to route the outlet into the tank. Because of this mounting sequence, the valve must be a 3/4" long detach tail model — a short tail will not reach far enough into the bracket for a proper connection. It mounts the Rojo or Topaz Trough Valve with a vital 50mm (approximately 2") air break. Compatibility and Limitations — Please Read Before Ordering Valve compatibility: Protect-A-Mount is designed for 3/4" Rojo and Topaz valves only. It is not compatible with Megaflow or Vortex valves, and it does not fit 1" or 1.25" inlet sizes. Long detach tail required (Topaz): The valve mounts into the bracket first, then the included 90-degree elbow attaches to it — this only works with the long detach tail option. Short tail Topaz valves will not fit. Tank wall thickness: Fits tank and trough walls up to approximately 3" thick. Confirm your tank wall thickness before ordering. Sold separately: The mount is sold on its own; the Rojo or Topaz float valve is not included. A 90-degree elbow is included. Fixed air break: The 50mm (~2") anti-siphon air break is a fixed dimension and cannot be adjusted or removed.
