Queen of the meadow (aka Joe-Pye Weed) Eutrochium fistulosum, a perennial wildflower that grows up to 5' tall and about 3-4' wide with flowers of pinkish/lavendar. It likes full su n and prefers moderately moist areas (not too wet and not too dry). Very attractive to pollinators and the fruit is eaten by wildlife. This plant goes dormant in the winter, so this makes it a nice one for an informal garden area. It will tolerate some salty wind but not direct spray. This beauty is a host plant for the striking Clymene moth (Haploa clymene). This moth doesn't shy away from the sun and can be seen both day and night. /AC Show more
