I Know is the debut studio album by American folk singer-songwriter John Gorka, originally released in 1987 by Red House Records and issued on CD in 1991. Recorded after Gorka won the Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk Award in 1984, the album established the rich baritone and character-driven songwriting that Rolling Stone would later credit as central to the New Folk movement of the era. The twelve-track album marked the start of Gorka's long association with Red House Records and includes Downtown Tonight, Blues Palace, and the title track I Know, alongside the wry B.B. King Was Wrong and the extended Heart Upon Demand. The album has since been recognized as a defining release of the late-1980s folk revival.
