When we ask people about their favorite authors, John Irving is often affectionately mentioned. A critical darling and student of Vonnegut, Irving writes novels that are faithful t o reality yet absurd enough to be unpredictable – one can never guess where he’ll take his characters or plots next. We’ve collected three of his best books, beautiful clothbound editions published by Modern Library, and designed custom-printed jackets for them that feature a photograph of Phillips Exeter Academy, the prestigious New Hampshire boarding school that Irving attended, and the setting of several of his novels. This set is a must-have for Irving fans or any readers who want to experience the work of one of the most talented authors today. Includes: The Cider House Rules The World According to Garp A Widow for One Year We also offer: Full Custom services that can be engaged to modify or expand this set's book list or develop a new jacket design.
