This is a biographical novel of a boy who was born into the history and culture of the Plain People of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Feeling that he wasn't living up to his given name , he moved from Lancaster Co., PA, to Denver, CO, to serve as a conscientious objector during the war. From that point on he never let himself be encumbered by such traditional faith expectations. His is a story of great accomplishments bracketed by times of great despair.
