This is the sealing washer fitted at the base of the oil pressure switch on Land Rover V8 petrol engines. Its function is to create a leak-free seal between the switch and the engi ne block, preventing oil seepage under pressure. A worn or damaged washer can result in oil weeping around the switch, inaccurate pressure readings, or contamination of surrounding components.
