Jose Hess Jose Hess 54 141552 Jose Hess was a German-born master goldsmith, designer, and gemologist. He was known for possessing a talent for original and contemporary jewelry. Hess focused on creating popular branded collections while mentoring emerging jewelry designers at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He was also a consultant to jewelry firms in the U.S. and abroad, working to revamp their design and manufacturing techniques. He has been honored with many awards, including the prestigious De Beers Diamonds International Award. Hess described his work as follows: “My design concept is the combination of elegance and simplicity with a futuristic approach. The main ingredients are logic, harmony, and sentiment.” Hess passed on February 9, 2021 at the age of 87.
