The Josephine sofa is a tribute to Josephine Baker, an emancipated woman and an icon of provocation in the 1930s. This translates to a desire to be freed from the sharp, boxy shape s of modern sofas, resulting in rounded, elegant shapes which form the armrests and backrest - three separate pieces that embrace the seat like the petals of a flower. The proportions are delicate, made even lighter by the seat, which is visibly raised off the ground. Josephine is a luxuriously feminine sofa which works well in both contemporary and classic design schemes.
