Jostaberry is a hybrid berry resulting from a cross between blackcurrants and gooseberries. Combining the best traits of both parent species, Jostaberries are known for their robust growth, disease resistance, and unique flavor - honeysweet with subtle hints of grape and kiwi. The berries are perfect for fresh eating but can also be used to craft wines, or cordials. The dark-purple berries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Jostaberries form a dense, spreading shrub reaching 4–6 feet in height and width. They are vigorous and hardy, with high productivity once established. Prune annually in late winter or early spring to remove dead or weak branches and encourage new growth. Jostaberries have a strong resistance to powdery mildew and white pine blister rust. Hardy is USDA zones 3 through 8.
