Premium Douglas Fir Bedding Our premium douglas fir bedding is soft, resilient, and very comfortable. It also lasts longer than many species because Fir shavings are strong and hav e high fiber content. What makes our Douglas Fir Bedding so unique is that it’s not kiln dried (KD). The lumber is actually planed before the drying process. While this gives the bedding slightly higher moisture content than KD, it air dries quickly for year-around comfort. Douglas Fir Bedding contains no toxins, is virtually dust-free, and won’t break down as fast in the stalls.
