Artist: Juan Gris Author: James Thrall Soby Publisher: MoMA Date: 1958 Condition: The first edition hardback, with the original unclipped printed dust wrapper over chestnut-coloure d boards. The wrapper with a little shelfwear and light tanning, the occasional minor chip and nibble to the edges. Internally a very clean and tidy copy. Illustrated throughout in black and white with a few colour plates. The MoMA catalogues of the late 1950s and early 1960s were beautifully produced for the time and this is no exception. A comprehensive survey exhibition of the important but short-lived cubist painter, this features extensive text by James Thrall Soby, Director of MoMA, a chronology and a bibliography. Show more
