Tràigh Mhòr, South Harris The gulls are playing a game. They bob and chatter in the lulls between the waves, then leap into the air seconds before it breaks over them. Swooping and circling, only to land in a lull, waiting for the next spilling breaker. It’s dawn, crisp and early, and I’ve made the only footprints in the sand as I sketch the coming tide.
