Path Rush is a common species of rush throughout North America. It typically occurs in moist to wet areas in partial to full sun, but this species is tolerant of drier conditions t han most rushes. It loves to grow along rocky paths and in disturbed areas. Many consider this wiry, deep green plant to be a weed, but it has its uses as a tough, erosion-controlling groundcover.
