Drummer Josh Tillman quit Fleet Foxes only to re-emerge with his equally successful Father John Misty persona, visionary Robin Pecknold left the music industry and enrolled at Columbia University, and the rest of the band busied themselves with side projects that strayed pretty far from Fleet Foxes’ trademark CSN harmonies. Now, after regrouping last year, the ensemble is ready to reclaim the indie-folk scene that they helped popularize with their unexpected, experimental comeback, Crack-Up.
