A fun, hands on workshop for children and dogs. Does your child love spending time with dogs? Do they want to teach new skills, play fun games and learn more about how dogs think and learn? Then this workshop is for them. This is not about standing in a line teaching dogs endless commands. It's about helping children build confidence around dogs, develop practical training skills and learn how to communicate clearly and fairly. Together we'll explore how dogs learn, why they do what they do and how games can help create better habits both at home and out on walks. During the Junior Dog Trainers Workshop we'll cover: How dogs learn Understanding dog body language Fun training games to play at home Building focus and engagement Simple scent and enrichment activities Teaching useful everyday skills Working as a team with your dog Most importantly, children will learn that good training is not about barking commands. It's about helping dogs succeed and making learning enjoyable for everyone involved. Every child will receive handouts packed with activities, games and challenges they can continue to practise at home. At the end of the workshop, each child will receive a Certificate of Completion to celebrate everything they have achieved. Children may attend with any suitable dog they regularly spend time with, whether that is a family dog, a grandparent's dog or another dog they know well. A parent or responsible adult must remain with their child throughout the workshop. Parents are responsible for both their child's safety and their dog's welfare at all times. Places are limited to ensure every child and dog receives individual support. If you want to go further, there will be options to continue with structured support.
