Shore Juniper is a prostrate, ground-hugging conifer that spreads outward rather than upward - the mature plant stays under 30cm in height while spreading to 1.5m or more. The foli age is fine, slightly prickly, and blue-green, lying in overlapping layers that give it a dense, carpeting quality. It is one of the most tough and drought-tolerant groundcovers available for Perth gardens: once established it handles coastal exposure, dry sandy soils, salt spray, and heat with complete composure. Outstanding for slopes, dry banks, and large open areas where something low and permanent is needed. Full sun. Sandy, well-drained soil. Extremely drought tolerant once established.
