The album speaks of everyday stories and experiences - family bonds, personal relationships, intimate moments. “Diamonds and Gold” is a soulful dedication to his wife, while “Sad Song” reframes heartache. He reflects on memories of growing up in Middleton, Manchester on “Waiting on a Blue Sky”, and the lead single “Summer of Love” blends retro soul, 70s-inspired grooves and JP Cooper’s signature rich vocals.Speaking about the inspiration behind the album and its process, JP explains: “This record feels like a turning point for me — I wasn’t thinking about radio, labels, or what might “work,” I just followed my dopamine. It was important to us that this album felt as human as possible, especially at a time when so much of music and art is being shaped by AI.
