“Threads of Blessing has brought many good things to me. Last year the small amount of money I received helped me with some farming activities and I am proud of what I have been ab le to produce. I also have received knowledge about needlework and design. The group is a great support. Praise God!” Jane lives in Kitgum, the area in the north of Uganda that has been struggling with many conflicts for years. Many families have been displaced or women have been left as widows due to the war or major illnesses such as HIV/AIDS. She meets weekly with her fellow needleworkers. The community they have developed through Threads of Blessing encourages each of them and has significantly raised their self-confidence. Jane's stitching group is one of 29 groups across several Ugandan provinces. The groups include over 900 women artists who help make up the Threads of Blessing family. Show more
