Minimal look; maximal function These blank sketchbooks are popular as surfaces for collage, artist books, and scrapbooks, because the extra-wide ring binding leaves room for the pages to expand in width. Feel free to tape scraps, pages from other notebooks, and photos into this sketchbook. You can also use it for drawing, of course, and the heavyweight paper is quite nice for all dry media and light use of wet media. (We wouldn't recommend doing a whole painting on this paper, but a few brushstrokes or a brush pen should work well.) The covers are extra-thick, recycled pasteboard, and they extend a bit beyond the pages to protect your corners.
