K11 Micra Solid Subframe Mounts
Nissan Micra K11 Solid Subframe Mounts Designed and manufactured by GizFab, our Nissan Micra K11 Solid Subframe Mount Kit replaces the two factory rubber mounts securing the latera l engine support subframe to the chassis within the transmission tunnel, behind the rear engine mount. The factory rubber mounts allow a degree of movement between the subframe and chassis. While this helps isolate vibration and improve refinement in a standard road car, that movement can become undesirable in a performance or competition application. Our solid billet aluminium mounts eliminate the compliance of the original rubber bushes, providing significantly more positive location of the subframe and drivetrain. Key Features Designed & Manufactured by GizFab Replaces the Two Factory Rubber Subframe Mounts Billet Aluminium Construction Solid, Zero-Compliance Design Blue Anodised Finish Helps Reduce Unwanted Engine & Drivetrain Movement Provides More Positive Gear Shift Feel Improves Drivetrain Location Under Load Mounting Hardware Included Designed for Race & Track Applications 12-Month Warranty What's Included? Each kit comprises: 2x Billet Aluminium Solid Subframe Mounts Required Mounting Hardware Supplied as a complete pair to replace the two original rubber mounting points. What Do These Mounts Replace? These mounts replace the two rubber bushes that secure the lateral engine support subframe to the chassis within the tunnel, behind the rear engine mount. The factory arrangement deliberately incorporates rubber to isolate the chassis and passenger compartment from engine and drivetrain vibration. For a standard road vehicle this is desirable. For a dedicated performance or competition vehicle, however, the movement permitted by these rubber mounts can contribute to unwanted movement of the drivetrain and associated components under acceleration, braking and gear changes. Solid Billet Aluminium Construction Replacing the original rubber mounts with solid billet aluminium components removes virtually all compliance from these mounting points. This provides a much more rigid connection between the lateral subframe and chassis. Under load, this can help reduce unwanted movement of the engine and drivetrain assembly, providing a more direct and consistent response. The mounts are finished in blue anodising, providing a durable and corrosion-resistant finish. More Positive Gear Shifting Drivetrain movement can affect the relative position of the engine, gearbox and gear linkage. By more positively locating the supporting subframe, these solid mounts can help reduce movement during acceleration, deceleration and gear changes. The result can be a more direct and consistent gear shift feel, particularly on vehicles fitted with other uprated engine mounts and performance drivetrain components. Reduced Drivetrain Compliance Solid mounting does not increase engine horsepower. Instead, it reduces the amount of movement that would otherwise be absorbed by the factory rubber mounting system. For a race or track vehicle, reducing this compliance can provide a more immediate and predictable connection between the drivetrain and chassis. ⚠️ WARNING - DRAMATIC INCREASE IN CABIN VIBRATION THESE ARE SOLID ALUMINIUM MOUNTS WITH NO RUBBER ISOLATION. Fitting this kit will cause a significant and potentially dramatic increase in Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) transmitted into the vehicle. Expect considerably more: Engine Vibration Gearbox & Drivetrain Vibration Cabin Vibration Mechanical Noise Resonance Harshness at Certain Engine Speeds This is a normal characteristic of solid mounting and is not a product defect. The increase in vibration may be substantial, particularly at idle and at certain engine RPM. Race & Track Applications These mounts have been designed primarily for: Race Cars Track Cars Sprint & Hillclimb Cars Competition Vehicles Dedicated Performance Builds They are not recommended for customers prioritising comfort or refinement. For a predominantly road-driven K11, polyurethane or uprated rubber mounting solutions may provide a better compromise between drivetrain control and cabin comfort. Installation Installation should be carried out by a suitably qualified professional. The lateral subframe and drivetrain must be correctly supported before the original mounting hardware is removed. Before installation, inspect the surrounding chassis, subframe and mounting points for: Corrosion Cracking Distortion Previous Accident Damage Damaged Threads Previous Repairs Do not install solid mounts to damaged or structurally compromised mounting points. Once installed, all hardware should be correctly tightened and subsequently rechecked after an initial period of use. Motorsport & Off-Road Use This product is intended for race, track, motorsport and off-road applications. It is not intended for use on public highways. The solid mounting arrangement substantially increases vibration and removes the isolation characteristics engineered into the original mounting system. The purchaser and installer are responsible for determining whether the product is appropriate for the vehicle and its intended application. 12-Month Warranty* This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase. Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect. The warranty does not cover incorrect installation, excessive tightening, modification, accident or impact damage, installation to damaged or corroded mounting points, misuse or damage caused by defective surrounding chassis, subframe, engine or drivetrain components. Increased noise, vibration, harshness and resonance are inherent characteristics of solid drivetrain mounting and are not considered manufacturing defects.
