Designed by German silversmith and designer Christian Dell, the Kaiser Idell Luxus Table Lamp was first introduced in 1936 by Kaiser & Co. As one of the most recognisable designs in the KAISER idell collection, the Model 6631 T Luxus is characterised by its broad shade and softly curved form. Influenced by Modernist principles, the design shows Dell’s interest in clarity and proportion through simple geometric forms. KAISER idell is recognised for its considered use of materials and precise engineering, closely connected to Bauhaus design values.Crafted from steel and brass, the lamp features a powder-coated or wet-painted surface in either a high gloss or matt finish. The shade and base are carefully treated to create a clean and even appearance that emphasises the sculpted form. Chrome-plated elements are made from silver-soldered brass and hand-polished to achieve a refined surface. Untreated brass components are left natural, allowing the material to patinate over time.A discreet switch is positioned on the base for easy operation, while the adjustable shade allows the light to be directed as needed. The top of the swivel joint is embossed with “ORIGINAL KAISER idell”, marking the lamp’s authentic heritage and reflecting the precision behind its design.
