The motor-driven blade produces fine, fluffy ice with the same snow-like texture found in Japanese kakigori shops. The blade height is adjustable: rotate toward fine for the lightest snow texture, or toward coarse for a denser shave that holds up better under heavy toppings. A key advantage of the Retro is its ice compatibility: in addition to the dedicated M-size ice cups, it can also shave regular ice cubes from your home freezer. This means you can make kakigori on demand without waiting for ice cups to freeze. The two bowls included in the box are sized for standard home servings. Voltage note: This machine runs on AC 100V. The plug is Type A (same as US and Canada). For use in Europe, Australia or other countries, a voltage converter is required — not included.
