These patchwork linen placemats, created by Japanese textile artist Yoshimi Kudo, are dyed with kakishibu—fermented persimmon tannins used in Japan for centuries. The dyeing proces s creates warm, earthy tones with natural depth and variation, accentuated by the visible hand-pieced seams. The fabric will soften over time.
