Wheat, Khorasan, Triticum turanicum Kamut is a registered trademark of Kamut International, Ltd. It is an ancestor to modern wheat, originating from the fertile crescent region nea r what is modern Iran. The grains are about twice the size of modern wheat. It also has a much higher protein content (12-18%). This is a vigorous growing, tall grain that can reach 4 ft tall. Plant in fall or early spring.
